The subject-to-object shift is the move nobody talks about clearly enough. You don't grow by accumulating more frameworks. You grow when the framework that was running you becomes something you can see and choose. Most people experience that transition as a crisis, not a development. The level 3 to 4 move in particular, when the socialized mind starts to crack, tends to look like betrayal or collapse from the inside before it looks like anything useful. What I'd push on: AI is going to put enormous pressure on level 3 specifically. If your identity is built from belonging and external validation, a system that gives you infinite affirmation at zero cost is not a neutral tool. It's a level 3 stabilizer. Whether that accelerates development or prevents it is probably the most important question nobody is asking.
